According to Sina.com (in Chinese), the vice-secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee says outsiders will not be prevented from coming to Beijing during the Olympics : Yesterday afternoon, the vice-secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, responsible for Olympic security arrangements Qiang Wei said:The Olympics are Olympics for everyone in the whole country, how could Beijing restrict people from other places from attending? Rules such as "beggars out!"? The rest of the article says that the basic "command system" for the Olympics will be established by the end of this year, and that there will be 100,000 people involved in security work for the Games. |

Allowed into the capital to do what? Mingle with foreign tourists? That'll be fun to watch.
Either way the result will be interesting to see.
If they are not allowed how much of a problem will that cause the authorities. If they are allowed to attend how much of a problem will that be. Could be big numbers either way.
