Olympic mascot: no panda, please!Posted by Mauro Marescialli, May 23, 2005 3:28 PM
![]() On June 1st the mascot of the 2008 Olympics will be officially announced to the world. According to Xinhua news agency the latest rumors indicate that the Tibetan Antelope (see image) is leading the race for best mascot design. The Tibetan Antelope is an endangered specie that lives in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. We at Danwei strongly support the Tibetan Antelope nomination because: 1) it's a strong animal who has to deal every day with the cold, the lack of food, and ruthless poachers; 2) the predictable and omnipresent designs of pandas, dragons, phoenixes, and monkeys broke our balls. Go Tibetan Antelope, go! LINK: |
