Consumer Insights Officer

CIC data has built an innovative market research practice of which we are extremely proud. We have developed the technology, methodologies and skills that enable us to distill timely, accurate and unique understanding of the Chinese consumer from the growing volumes of Chinese social media including Blogs and BBS message boards. With a roster of clients all over the world, and skyrocketing demand, we are now looking for someone to build on our success and further develop our Consumer Insights practice.

The successful candidate must have an extremely strong China background in market research, experience managing senior client relationships, and growing effective and efficient teams. Ideal candidate will have a mix of both quantitative and qualitative market research experience and a keen business sense. A key responsibility will be building on and refining this new type of market research, including the methodologies and products that support it.

Candidate must be fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Job Description:

  • Engineer and oversee company’s research and operations utilizing Chinese social media (BBS/Blogs);

  • Work closely with VP of Product Design to formalize research methodologies and create new products;

  • Identify and build new applications based on company’s research assets to meet client needs;

  • Interact heavily with senior executives and project managers of clients;
    Create and manage variety of syndicated research offerings;

  • Run company’s custom research business;

  • Maximize efficiency of company’s research model, maximizing per analyst revenue figures.


  • Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of highly relevant experience in market research and consulting services;

  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research, as well as custom and syndicated research;

  • Advanced degree in market research, statistics or related field is preferred but not essential;

  • Proven management capabilities and be familiar with the nuances associated with shaping a growing team;

  • Extensive experience managing senior client relationships. This position requires a large amount of direct client contact.

  • Senior Analyst/Project management

    Job Description

  • Managing and customization Internet community research projects, and clients development;

  • Internet community research projects in data collecting, data mining and report writing;

  • Research projects execution and management;

  • Communicating the entire project process to clients.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or above;

  • Two years experiences in market research (qualitative and quantitative research, survey design, one-on-one interviews, focus group etc.), preferably with traditional market research company;

  • Understanding and strong interest in Internet media and Internet industry;

  • Experience in client relationship management and project management.
  • This position requires a large amount of direct client contact and client development;

  • Good presentation skill and communication skill (both in English and Chinese)

  • Strong analytical skill and ability to write English and Chinese reports fluently;

  • Good computer application skill, understanding of basic database applications and familiar with statistical software;

  • Team-focused leadership skill, and able to innovate; must welcome challenges, work hard and take ownership;

  • Quick learner with knowledge of particular industries (e.g. pharmaceutical, financial service, automobile, consumer electronics industries are particular desirable) is preferred.

  • Junior Analyst

    Job Description

    Participate in research project design according to project managers’ guidance;
    Assist project manager to complete research project for clients;
    Assist and manage project team members, in order to maximize efficiency and accuracy of research projects.

    Requirements

  • College degree or above;

  • Experience in traditional market research (qualitative and quantitative research, survey design, one-on-one interviews, focus group etc.);

  • Understanding and strong interest in Internet media and Internet industry;

  • Experience in data analysis and project management;

  • Ability to complete research projects and write reports independently;

  • Good writing skill in English with capability of serving overseas clients;

  • Familiar with statistical analysis and quantitative analysis;

  • Able to innovate; must welcome challenges, work hard and take ownership;

  • Regular participation in BBS forums and Blog writing a plus.
