Comments on China Dirt comes back after hiatus

That blog is interesting, but in ways other than it intends. Of course, you read it and think "Yeah, I know of some people who fit that bill." But, these days there is such a wide range of people living here.

Typical 'ex-pat' bounder types in bars are just one section. I know plenty of fairly normal people here. You can't help but think that the authors of Dirt are specifically frequenting the types of places that these guys go to ..and to a certain extent are part of the same cultural group.

    Perhaps I'm biased as a non-drinker.

Also, I'm not convinced that Shanghai ex-pat douches are any worse than most men in any given locale or situation when it comes to women (ie douches).

Everyone would just be better off reading the F-word blog.

Also, people are generally weak in their convictions here. Take the old Smart Shanghai forum: there were some well known posters there who frequently posted up sexist abuse and arrogant douche stuff ... most people on the social scene knew who they were, in fact, most posted under their real names or known nicknames ... but in the clubs they are still treated like royalty.

Well wide-assed, average looking and envious women with bad skin need an outlet too. Good on em!

fine fine but my problem with china dirt is their colonial mindset. they have two taglines is

"Women of China unite! You have nothing to lose but your emotional baggage".

    and

"Could the men living in China get any more retarded?"

but they're not talking about chinese people living in china. these girls live in china but only expatriates are "men" and "women".

i agree with Andy Best above that it's hard to sympathize with these women's characterizations of men whom they've met in bars, cocktail parties, craigslist et al.

    total selection bias.

I guess I'm just not that interested in what the writers on F! blog have to say. Stories about men trying to get women to have sex with them? Not the most original, exciting topic I have ever heard of, even if the stories happen to take place in China. I wish there was some depth and self-analysis - most of the posts read like poorly edited attempts a SATC episode.

I would really like to hear more from Western women in China, since the expat world is pretty male-dominated. But this is not what I really hoped for.

One thing I do find interesting is the lack of Chinese men in the stories. Anyone want to risk an explanation as to the relative imbalance here? The answer cannot be that Chinese guys aren't interested in Western women, because at least as many Chinese guys are into white women as are Chinese girls into white men.

I miss Lulu's Diary! That broad had class.

    finally?!

I think they all (every one of them, men and women) should be destroyed... It will be good for planet earth in the long run- this coming from a Sith.

The best thing of that blog were the funny rants from male commentators. I bet most of the readers were actually male douches themselves, rejoycing in their doucheness. The CBounder was one of them for sure.

Note I might be biased as a non-douche.

"I think they all (every one of them, men and women) should be destroyed... It will be good for plane"---Light Lord Of Sith

Out of curiosity, what do you think of the Wii game LEGO STAR WARS. I think it rules!!!!

Pfftt... Don't confuse me with no fuckin video game, you video game nerd. I'm a real Sith Lord, i.e. I can destroy your planet with my thought while I'm skullf***king and swimming in a bloodbath. (where do you come up with this crap? Some commerical with fat nerds playing with themselvews... that is, the wiisterbation?)

My motto: Very yellow and very violent; reconize the real.

BTW, why you calling me out? You think Danwei.org is for chatting up (kissing ass) a Sith Lord or some shi*?

Danwei.org is for masters who plan real s***t, know what I mean (obviously you don't)? In other words: Go back to slaughtering your sheep, peasant!

"My motto: Very yellow and very violent; reconize the real." Light Lord of Sith

This just goes to show your obvious attraction for me. I am sorry buddy but I fancy the ladies...NOT the dudes that look like ones.

LEGO STAR WARS is f-ing rad. Furthermore, yes I am a nerd. So what?

Flanked, surrounded and out-gunned! what to do? What to do? *teeth chattering, oh shit, I'm about to die* Let's make snide comments about someone's sexual thing. Lame. Not very imaginative for someone who claims Slaughter... Oh wait, you are just a SGT. whereas I'm a mofo Sith Lord. I out rank you by

Π_{i=1}^{infinity} 2^{2^{2^{2^{2^i}}}} levels above you bud.

But you are so wrong. Stop trying to PROJECT you shit onto others when residuals are bububling up from you mind after a visit to 4chan for alternative hentai. LOL.

Anyways... Just to answer you question: No. Play Mass Effect or something. Fallout 3. Hell... load up WOW again and grind like Blizzard is in the business of global banking.
