The video shot just before they embarked on a tour of the U.S.A., that will include shows at the South By South West festival. Comments on Danwei Music: Lonely China Dayfinally some chinese intersting bands have the opportunity to play outside the mainland, also the western audience have the possibility enjoy some chinese gigs... but even though the situation is better than before, the visa problem is still discouraging, complicated and unberable. Its a pity that so early in the process US audiences are getting such a wimpy view of Chinese music. Lonely China Day is like watered down milk and ReTros are pretty unimaginative -- and both are popular mainly among expats and looked down on by local musicians. With so many great bands in China you guys need to send someone else to represent. wow, thank you so much for sharing the video. lonely china day is one of my favorite local bands and is close to my heart, although i haven't seen them live. way to go! that's pretty cool... Not my typical style of music but I'd check them out if I get the chance. Cool clip; good luck to them at SXSW! Any links to the band's website? Is there a way to know when/where they do shows in Beijing? Go to www.tagteamrecords.com for information about shows in Beijing--you can sign up on the email list. Their myspace will also list shows around China. They head back to Beijing (from my house near Chicago) tomorrow morning and will tour China in a few weeks! |
