Comments on Candlelight vigil for earthquake victims in ShanghaiIt's a good thing they are also holding the vigil for victims of another natural disaster and one of China's staunchest allies...Myanmar. Right? A similar vigil was planned for a large square in the center of Beijing – see this thread on Tianya. When i went by last night at about 9pm, police and army personnel were not allowing people to enter the area surrounding the square. But marchers (in the hundreds) carrying flags and calling out "Jiayou Zhongguo" wandered the surrounding streets with a large police escort. Just heard they're back again this afternoon - but in larger numbers. Hi Friends, |
