Creative business event Tuesday Jan. 13

A quick reminder about Danwei's upcoming Plenary Session at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing:

Danwei's Third Plenary Session is a panel discussion about creative business in China on January 13 from 7-10pm at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business just near Wangfujing in Beijing.

Our topics:

How to make real money doing creative work, how to turn yourself from a slacker into a respectable business person, and how to turn skills in music, culture, design, technology and writing into a fun and profitable career.

The speakers are three old hands in both creative and business communities in China, excellent public speakers and not afraid of answering difficult questions:

Dominic Johnson-Hill, founder and of Plastered T-shirts and winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year section of the British Business Awards;

Richard Robinson, serial tech entrepreneur, founder of mobile gaming company Kooky Panda and of Chopschticks, which organizes stand up comedy shows across Asia;

Kaiser Kuo, rock star, tech startup veteran and Group Director for Digital Strategy of Ogilvy China

The discussion will be moderated by your correspondent, Jeremy Goldkorn.

The event is free, including wine, drinks and a nice goodie bag. All you have to do is register by emailing Jonathan Tang at jonathantang@ckgsb.edu.cn.

This event brought to you by Danwei and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business with support from City Weekend.

Event Address:
12th Floor, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business
Oriental Plaza, Tower E3
1 East Chang An Avenue

Princess Der Ling: Two Years in the Forbidden City: Two years in the Forbidden City is largely a reminiscence of the minutiae of life for one of history's most powerful women, by one of her court attendants, a Manchu noble's daughter by the name of Der Ling.
Carl Crow's The Long Road Back to China: In 1939 Carl Crow - an American journalist, advertising executive and author who had lived in Shanghai for 25 years until forced out by the Japanese - travelled up the Burma Road from Rangoon to Chongqing on assignment for Liberty magazine - 'the most interesting assignment I have ever been given'.
