Before it is taken off the Internet: in the city of Nankang (南康), Jiangxi province, it was reported today that tens of thousands of people clashed with police and turned over at least three police cars. Information and photos are being posted to Fanfou by Zuihulu (醉葫芦 "drunken calabash"). One theory says that the unrest is related to plans by the local government to overhaul the city's furniture industry by the end of August. The measures involve consolidating small-scale producers and regulating sales and purchasing. |
