Comments on Zhang Lijia: Socialism is Great! too much chest-exposure, Jeremy. don't forget: you're South African, not European. Great book. Couldn't put it down. It takes great courage (and a thick face) to share your very personal experiences with the world. Thank you! Thank you! One big disappointment, though: the book ended far too early. Obviously much happened after your police interrogation in the summer of '89. Obviously you escaped your smotherland. Congratulations for that! But it's also great to have you back, to provoke change, I'm sure. There are many things that still need to change. The list is long and ugly. But your book gives us hope. Thank you. |
