Drunk punks on film in Beijing

Kevin Fritz is a young American from Pennsylvania who followed Beijing punk band Joyside around China. He filmed them perform in bars nationwide, their manic tour fueled by huge quantities of beer. The documentary that resulted is called Wasted Orient.

Wasted Orient will be screened for the first time in Beijing this weekend. Members of the band, who have not yet seen the film, will be present along with director Kevin Fritz.

Date / time: Friday & Saturday July 7 and 8, 8pm (91 minutes long)
