The third day of the Wenchuan earthquake

The headline of today's Beijing Times announces that the death toll has risen to 14,866, and the government has ordered more troops into disaster area to join the rescue effort. According to the article, more than 100,000 soldiers and People's Armed Ppolce officers have are searching and rescuing victims there. Although rescue workers have entered all affected counties, there are still a few isolated villages that they have not reached yet.

The front page picture shows paratroopers jumping out of the hatch near Mao County, Chongqing yesterday.

• The Civil Affairs Ministry said more than 877 million yuan in earthquake relief donations had been received as of 4 pm, May 13.

• A spokesman of China Banking Regulatory Commission said yesterday that all remittance for the earthquake relief purposes will not be charged any transaction fees.

I am a chinese girl.living in Sichuan province,and i had suffer from the earthquake.
Fortunately,i am still here.and my famliy too.
At first,i didn't realize that the disaster were destoy so many villages and led so many people death.
But!i belive the garverment!i belive China!
I love China.

May 2008, 8.0 Magnitude Earthquake and Wolong Panda.
Wenchuan Earthquake happened at 14:28, 12May 2008, in Wenchuan and Yinxiu, Beichuan, Mianzhu, Pengzhou area, Sichuan Provinc, China. Affected area covers Sichuan, Chongqing, Gansu, Shanxi, Hubei, Yunnan etc. Almost all western area roads in Sichuan were blocked.
Till 12:00 of 25May, 2008, the death toll from the devastating earthquake rose to 62,664, injured people rose to 358,816, and 23775 people were missing. And the aftershocks maybe take about one month. The aftershocks have not break till now
About the wild panda, almost about 1590 wild pandas in China, and no dead body found till now.
And about about 154 captive pandas in Chengdu, Bifengxia and Wolong are all safe: 86 of them in Wolong is safe.
And in Wolong, with total population of more than 6000, about 47 local people injured, and about 40 local people died. No died for the Wolong Panda Center staff.
Almost all captive panda Enclosures has been destroyed. and 2 captive pandas missing from the Enclosure.
At the time of earthquake, about 34 foreigners (foreign tourists) in Wolong, all of them safe and brought to Chengdu by Heli on both 15May and 16May.
Till 23 May 2008, almost all blocked roads okey for basic transportation.
About 8 Olympic Pandas has been to Beijing on 24May by plane from Wolong, and will be seen sooner in Beijing Garden.
