Another fake South China tiger
A journalist in Pingjiang(平江), Hubei Province, claimed that he had shot a video of a wild South China tiger in Hubei. The video was confirmed to be a fake soon afterwards. It was found that the tiger was an artificially reared one and had been borrowed from a circus.

This is the second falsified claim about South China tigers: late last year, the Shaanxi Province Forestry Department publicized a photo, apparently taken by a local farmer, of a South China tiger. It was soon shown to be a fake by netizens (see this Danwei story).

Olympic flame lit
The big picture and big headline on the front page: The Olympic flame for the 29th Olympic Games was lit yesterday afternoon in Athens, Greece. China sent a delegation of over 2,000 people to Greece for this event. The report does not mention the disruptions caused by protesters.

Pingjiang is not in Hubei but in Hunan Province.

The fact that this fake photo (not cropped, but entirely fake) made it into the "Chinese media" clearly shows that the "Chinese media" is corrupt and biased. It also proves that while the Chinese think they can tell fact from fiction (unlike the dupes who read the "Western media"), they are really just brainwashed.

I'm assuming it works both ways, no?

Jim

Every modern country has a period that media is corrupt.

It doesn't mean the situation in China is good. Now most of people see it but time is needed to change the situation.
