The top headline in today's Oriental Morning Post announces that Chang'e I - China's first lunar exploration project - has entered the final stage of preparations. According to Chief Director Zhang Qingwei of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, it will launch before the end of this month, as anticipated.

The front page picture shows an artist's conception of the Chang'e I probe.

Beneath the headline is one of a series of reports about the ongoing National Party Congress; the text reads: "The property income of citizens must improve quickly."

Other headlines:

  • Tuition for foreign students has increased in many countries;
  • In an opinion piece in the latest issue of Foreign Affairs, Hillary Clinton claimed that the relationship between the US and China is the most important two-way relationship in the world.
