Front Page of the Day is a daily review of the news on the front page of one Chinese newspaper; today's front page was found at the newspaper's website. Yesterday marked the 1000-day countdown for Expo 2010 Shanghai. Expo organisers have launched a national touring exhibition to show off the city's preparations alongside the history of world expositions. The Expo will open on May 1, 2010.The headline of today's Oriental Morning Post quotes Shanghai party secretary Xi Jingping's words about the World Expo:" The World Expo must improve our people's life!" The photo shows Xi at the countdown ceremony. The boxed-headline on the left announces the wedding of NBA superstar Yao Ming and Ye Li. It took place today in his home town of Shanghai and was a private affair to which his teammates were not invited.
