Cui Jian, about whose influence on Chinese rock-and-roll countless dissertations have been written, is set to release a new album at the end of the month. In the meantime, he has teamed up with noted Flash artist Lao Jiang to release an animated video for his new song Mr. Red. Lao Jiang had previously won recognition for a surreal Flash movie he did of Cui's early hit, Rock'n'Roll on the New Long March. Cui enjoyed it and recruited him especially for this project, in which he is launched into a Mario-esque universe. Mr. Red is here; New Long March is here, both hosted courtesy of Sina. |
