JOB DESCRIPTION

The Branding Director in our Shanghai office who will report to the Shanghai General Manager, CEO and work closely with other directors to assess client's needs, develop branding solutions and help bring those solutions to life. Key elements of this role include creative thinking, intellectual curiosity, analytic problem solving, ability to influence and inspire others, client service and an eagerness to improve our offering.

Your objective is to lead Interbrand global and China best practices and processes and to contribute to the development of our intellectual property. For clients, you will think about how branding and language can build a brand in the B2B and B2C marketplaces. You should be passionate about work that requires good right-brain and left-brain thinking skills, balance between western culture and Chinese culture. Your day to day tasks will involve an exciting balance of creative language tasks in English, understanding of Chinese language and cultures, strategic thinking and client service for western client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and contribute to Interbrand’s creative and strategic branding processes
  • Develop a solid understanding several B2B and B2C industries, including our clients’ businesses and corporate cultures
  • Development and deliver strategically creative presentations to western clients about Interbrand’s branding recommendations on Chinese name/tagline
  • Build client relationships with western clients
  • Lead and take part in English name and tagline creation and brainstorming activities
  • Support local team members to help Chinese client understand Interbrand’s branding recommendations on English names and tagline
  • Help local team members to improve their English writing and speaking skill in daily job
  • Travel inside and outside China, depending on client and business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A. or higher degree, preferably in a writing, marketing, or a language oriented discipline (English or other western languages)
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) as native speaker
  • 10-15 years professional working experience required in marketing, copy writing, creative services, advertising or similar industries
  • Excellent creative and business writing skills in English
  • Confident, creative and warm personality
  • Ability to present work to groups, including senior clients
  • Strong team player who works well with others, but can also work well independently and grow to have more responsibility
  • Ability to work on various types of assignments at the same time
  • Attention to detail is very important
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
