That's the Art of War

Interfax reports:

Shanghai. (Interfax-China) - A leading English language magazine group in China, the "That's Group," has seen a dramatic change of ownership recently.

According to Mark Kitto, the former owner and founder of the company, he has been ousted by trusted employees - his national sales director and national finance director...

..."Editorial staffers from the That's Shanghai offices have walked out," the That's Shanghai former general manager Michael Cole told Interfax.

Meanwwhile, far north of the Yangtze, That's Beijing General Manager Michael Wester says that the Beijing magazine's editorial and sales staff are all still working and resisting job offers by rival English magazines. The team will appparently continue to operate, but remain independent of the revolting Shanghai entity.

Wester says that the magazine will continue to be published monthly. His team is launching the 'Insider's Guide to Beijing' book next Thursday, September 16. If you want to go to the launch party and see for yourself, email Mike Wester: michaelwester -at- thatsbeijing.com.
