The face that launched a thousand ships

Or to use her the name of the most famous character she has played: 'Driving ten thousand men crazy' (Wan Ren Mi). Chen Hao played Wan Ren Mi in the hit soap opera 'Rouge Babes' (fenhong nulang), a combination of 'Sex and the City' and 'Nancy Drew', based on a Taiwanese cartoon and produced in Shanghai. Chen Hao is on the cover of this week's Lifestyle (jingpin gouwu) magazine.

Lifestyle is one of China's earliest commercial periodicals. Each issue has a good mix of trashy articles and advertisements and it is one of the best distributed commercial publications in northern China. Here is another picture of Chen Hao.

+ Asimov Published, Interviewed in Beijing (2005.03): Cover story from this week's Book Review section of The Beijing News announces the publication of a Chinese translation of Isaac Asimov's complete Foundation series. Yup, the Beijing News has scored a fictional interview with "I, Asimov". They've been taking similar liberties recently in their entertainment sections, captioning photographs of celebrities with made-up quotes.
