The new sexy Xu Jinglei

Cosmopolitan magazine
April 2010

Actress, director and blogger Xu Jinglei, was once China's top blogger, but she is currently number nine on Sina's blog rankings.

Her appeal has always been girl next door rather than glamorous or sexy. So her photo on the cover of the April issue of Cosmopolitan magazine (pictured) has caused a great deal of discussion on Chinese blogs and Internet forums: why so sexy?

Speculation is that she is trying to promote her new film, the romantic comedy Du Lala's Promotion (杜拉拉升职记) which hits Chinese screens on April 15.

Comments on The new sexy Xu Jinglei

I would never have guessed it's Xu Jinglei by looking at this photo. You sure the magazine didn't use someone else's photo, but telling everybody it's her? I know it's a silly question. It's just hard to believe it's her!

I almost can not recognize her.

I'm sorry to say that Xu Jinglei is just everything other than SEXY.

I wouldn't call this "sexy" ... I mean, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being sexy and showing your sexy side ... but this picture is just not sexy ...

bad taste, bad photo, all wrong. It's stupid of her to shoot such an image. What was she thinking? !

I would not have recognized her if this article did not tell me it was her. But she is still sexy on that cover of the magazine
