Yesterday Danwei linked to a story, Beijing's Lala Scene — A Chinese Lesbian Speaks Out, on a website called Pacific News Service. The article includes a good rundown of the lesbian bar scene in recent years in the capital. Today, the China daily has plagiarised the entire article and published it here. However, the China Daily version has been santitized to omit the names of the lesbian bars and all references to police harassment.
