Chinese National Geography

World geography, anthropology, and natural magazine, with a special focus on China.

Chinese National Geography was born in 1950 as "Geography Knowledge (地理知识; there are still a number of popular science "knowledge" magazines with titles like Ordnance Knowledge, and Warship Knowledge), and it kept that name until an ambitious expansion program launched in 2000 that eventually led to traditional character editions in Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as a Japanese-language edition. It also runs a youth magazine, Natural History (博物).

In March, 2008, the magazine launched a new website, Dili360, in a foray into new media.

The cover of Chinese National Geography is obviously inspired by yellow box that's a well-known symbol of National Geographic (whose Chinese edition is called 华夏地理). Here, the box is red and there's a chunk taken out of the lower right, turning it into a "C."
