King of Fairy Tales

Written by one man, Zheng Yuanjie (郑渊洁), since 1985.

The magazine's stories aren't technically fairy tales; instead, they are an eclectic mix of satire, fantasy, and fables. Nor are they the sort of story you'd tell your baby in bed. Many of them are well-suited to adult readers.

The advantage of having the magazine written by one man is that the contributor can publish anything he likes because he is also the chief editor. The disadvantage is that the contributor who doubles as chief editor sometimes republishes his old stories when he cannot come up with new ones in time.

Zheng is perennially rumored to be searching for someone to take over his magazine.
