Zheng Xiaoyu executed yesterday

With the approval of the Supreme People's Court, Zheng Xiaoyu, former chief of the State Food and Drug Administration, was executed in Beijing on July, 10, 2007.

Zheng, 63, was convicted of taking bribes and dereliction of duty. According to the court, the bribes, which including cash and gifts, were worth more than 6.49 million yuan (about US$850,000), and were in exchange for approving certain medicines for sale in China.

Transformers arrives in Beijing
The Transformers movie had its China premiere at midnight on July 11. Many Beijing cinemas held special late night shows after midnight. The box office takings will easily surpass 100 million yuan, according to a movie marketing expert.

#2, saw this during the weekend. Kicked ass movie. Thought the graphix was awesome. Only bad thing about it the shaky cam, too much bluring. But that's minor nit picking. ILM rules!

Spoiler: In the end the hot chick mates with Optimus Prime...WHAT!!!
