Below are some propaganda posters from Dongcheng District in Beijing. Dongcheng (or East City) is a historic city district stretching from the city's central north-south axis to the old city walls. The city walls were destroyed in the 1950s to make way for the picturesque Second Ring Road and a subway line underneath it. These billboards were found near the shopping street of Wangfujing. The propaganda posters will stay up until a commercial advertiser can found to pay for the space.

The paper was purchased on the Beijing subway for two yuan, which is relatively expensive, as most of the city's daily newspapers cost only half a yuan.
