The fifth anniversary of Macao's return to Chinese rule did not attract much coverage in Beijing's newspapers, but it was big news in the People's Daily and on Xinhua.

On the front page of today's People Daily, two photos are connected with Macao. The left photo in the pictured front page shows Hu Jintao arriving in Macao to attend the celebration ceremony, the right-hand image shows Hu meeting Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
