The confessions of Guo JingjingPosted by Tsingsong, January 18, 2005 7:30 PM
![]() There was no dominant news topic today, so different newspapers focused on different topics. According to Beijing Daily Messenger, Chinese diving queen Guo Jingjing made a self-criticism when she came back to national team. Guo said: "I grew up in the national diving team which is a big warm family that I always want to come back to. I did not realize I attended too many commercial events after Athens Olympic games, and did not act according to leaders' instructions. I belong to the country and will be protected by the country. I promise I will do my best in training and become a model for younger athletes " The national diving team has already accepted Guo's confession. But the team did not let Tian Liang, another diving star, return to its warm embrace, because he did not realize his mistakes yet. (The photo is from Sina.com) Today's front page sample comes from The Beijing News. The photo is captioned "The Beijing News Class receive New Year gifts". The story is about the Beijing News sending gifts to kids who study in a class sponsored by the newspaper. The gifts are some Chinese dictionaries. The kids seem to be happy. |
