Here's a story by Megan Shank and Peijin Chen Ye Shanghai, Gay Shanghai. As of last fall, Newsweek Select is free to distribute at the ultra-exclusive newstands, i.e. airports and five-star hotels. The amateurish Hong Kong publishers, who only came by the rights through their connections in the Middle East, have turned over the staff and bumped up the quota of original submissions in an attempt to become more of a real magazine. Got a couple of columns from mainlanders like Qinghua IR expert Zhou Qing'an (formerly a Beijing News regular).
