Notorious R.O.N. and the British AmbassadorPosted by Mauro Marescialli, January 27, 2005 12:21 PM
![]() Wednesday's front page of Titan Sports was dedicated yet again to super-gaffer-extraordinaire Ron Atkinson. The editors at Titan made an effort to interview the disgraced British ex-coach, ex-TV commentator, ex-travagant twat. What he managed to say, as reported in the newspaper's headline, was basically "I'd better shut up, but I won't apologize". Good one, Ron. Shut up and, as Tony Soprano would put it, stop breaking our balls with your brainless remarks about, well, pretty much anything. Anyway, the storm caused by Ron's tactful art of diplomacy was somehow tackled by the Ambassador of the UK in China, Sir Christopher Hum. In a note published on Titan Sports' front page the Ambassador expressed "deep concern" about the whole mess and stressed that "Mr. Atkinson's remarks must be considered as a personal opinion and most definetely do not represent the views of the British government and the British people". Indeed. |
