Beijing rock music: Strung up by hooksPosted by Jeremy Goldkorn, June 25, 2006 6:51 PM
Last night Muzi Mei went to a performance by goth-metal band Ling Yi (零一). They dress in clothes that appear to have been drenched in blood, and their performances usually include some type of freak show by one of their supporters. At last night's show, a guy sporting a mohawk pierced his back with four large hooks, and was strung up from the ceiling, attached only by the hooks.
Muzi Mei's video of the masochistic performance is the top entry on her podcast page, or you can right click on this link to download directly.
